Neste thriller, Jack Verdon (Ray Liotta) é um detetive na da polícia, por causa de de assassinatos que envolvem mulheres com quem ele já se relacionou. Atualmente vivendo com a bela Ana (a brasileira Gisele Fraga), Jack se vê no centro das investigações desse serial killer cheio de ódio. O caso acaba nas mãos do agente Vuckovitch (Christian Slater) e do capitão Langley (Ving Rhames). Juntos, eles vão que o passado tem sua força tanto para o bem, quanto para o mal.
